A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jean X. Jiang in the Department of Biochemistry and Structural Biology at UT Health San Antonio.
Our laboratory investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating bone remodeling, osteocyte function, bone marrow stromal/progenitor cells, and skeletal diseases. Current funded projects focus on osteocyte mechanotransduction, connexin hemichannel signaling, bone marrow stromal/progenitor cell differentiation, and therapeutic approaches for osteoporosis and age-related bone loss.
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and strong training in cell and molecular biology, with experience in both in vitro studies and in vivo mouse models. Prior experience in bone biology, bone marrow biology, mesenchymal/stromal progenitor cells, osteoblast/osteocyte biology, or skeletal disease models is preferred.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop independent research projects, publish impactful studies, and receive mentoring toward an independent research career.
